Sigh of relief for stranded students in TN, K’taka

Several students and tribal residents of Jharkhand currently stranded in Tamilnadu and Karnataka may take a sigh of relief after the respective Governments of the two States responded to the request of Chief Minister Hemant Soren to provide relief to them.

Following the CM's request, the Tamil Nadu Government has assured to provide necessary help to the students stranded in Coimbatore. The Tamil Nadu CM said that it has been instructed to make arrangements for food and lodging for the students and people coming to Vellore for treatment. Soren has thanked the Tamil Nadu CM for this help.

Similarly, accepting the request of the Soren, the Karnataka government has assured to provide help to 281 tribal brothers of Khunti stuck in Mangalore. The Karnataka government was told by the Chief Minister that the stranded people would be covered with all necessary help.

The CM said that all the people of Jharkhand living outside the State should remember that they are not alone in this disaster. “The entire State government is with you. Due to the country-wide lockdown, it is not possible to bring all of you back to Jharkhand, but help will surely reach you. I am again requesting you with folded hands; stay where you are. This is the most effective and safe way to avoid this epidemic. I am in touch with the Chief Ministers of all the states. So that help and necessary facilities reach you as soon as possible. The more you stay at home, the more you and your kin will be protected,” he added.

Meanwhile, the CM has ordered Deputy Commissioner Palamu to ensure strict compliance of the lockdown. The CM said that it should also be ensured that such a situation does not occur.

The CM came to know that social distancing is not being followed in lockdown in Haidarnagar market in Palamu. Fair like atmosphere in the market. After this, the Chief Minister has given the order in view of the possible possibility of spreading the infection.

The CM has also ordered DC Dhanbad to inform the Punjabi people working in a company with necessary help. He also said that the company, in which they were employed, should not bear financial loss. The employees should get their full rights. The CM was informed by sharing a video that the company, in which the people work, is not being provided food and there is a nationwide lockdown. In such a situation, their life is difficult.

The Chief Minister has directed Deputy Commissioner Bokaro to resolve the problems being faced by cleaning staff. The Chief Minister said that by sending a team, take stock of the situation and inform them by providing appropriate help. The CM was informed that due to the lockdown, about 200 cleaning staff living in three settlements located in Bokaro are not getting food. Daily wages are also closed due to lockdown.
