In a move to improve image and make police accountable towards the public, the Chhattisgarh Police on Sunday suspended of Station House Officer (SHO) and the In-charge of Government Railway Police (GRP) outpost in Durg district.
According to the suspension order, Dhamdha SHO Shailendra Thakur and Ramesh Pandey of Charoda GRP post have been suspended, a press note said.
As per the complaints received, Thakur was involved in bribery to settle illegal acts, corruption and suspicious conduct while Pandey failed to control gambling, satta and other such acts, it added.
Both Thakur and Pandey would be attached at Durg Police Line until further orders.
Chhattisgarh Director General of Police D.M. Awasthi had ordered the Durg Superintendent of Police and the Raipur Railway Superintendent of Police to take strict action against both the officials.
