The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved a project of Rs 3,004.63 crore for development of the Paradip Port. The Cabinet approved deepening and optimisation of the inner harbour facilities, including development of western dock on the Build, Operate & Transfer basis under PPP mode to handle cape-size vessels at the port, informed Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of State for Ports, Shipping & Waterways.
The estimated cost of the project is Rs 3,004.63 crore, the Minister added.The Paradip Port's investment would be to the tune of Rs 612.50 crore towards providing common supporting project infrastructure.
