In order to generate additional revenue, the Materials Management department of the Khurda Road Division has initiated several new ways through the sale of unserviceable materials (scrap) released from various activities of the Railways over the division.
In the current financial year, from April to October, the division has sold scrap materials in e-auction worth Rs 16.73 crore. But in a single month i.e in November, the scrap sold is of Rs 20.43 crore, which surpasses the records of the previous months.
The division has also made a record by selling a scrap of Rs 7.44 crore in a single day i.e on November 27.
