After a brief lull during the lockdown period, there has been a sudden rise in group clashes to control coal turf here in coal city.
In last one month, four such incidents have been reported, two in Baghmara area and one in Jharia area, during which supports of select political leaders clashed to show their supremacy including the current one.
Incidentally, in all four cases the goons could not be identified as they had covered face to protect identity. In all four cases bombs were exploded, goons opened fire to intimidate workers and others and escaped.
On Saturday one such incident took place at Anna RK outsourcing patch under Jharia police station when goons opened fire to intimidate the workers of outsourced company. Attempts were also some to damage the mining equipment but could not do so.
“ The incident has showing as post of the workers of the firm are under grip of fear”, said Ravi Agarwal managing partner of the outsourced firm. Outsourcing firm has demand security for equipments and workforce. A petition in this regards has been handed over to the DSP Sindri by the company management.
Talking to media persons DSP AK Sinha said , “Attempts are on to use identity the goons . Appropriate action would be taken after identifying them”.
However, even after 24 hours of the incident no one could be arrested in this connection as yet.
According to available it’s an attempt to to control the loading point of the outsourced firm by supporters of a particular political leader of ruling party.
However, police remains silent on this part when asked.
Similarly clash were reported on August 1 at North Tisra coal mines and again on August 24 At Nichitpur area and on August 25 when mining equipments of an outsourced firm Deco were set ablaze.
Incidentally in all four cases it’s clash between supporters of ruling and Opposition parties who all want control on coal turf as it generates easy money in different ways from one particular spot.
