Despite various instances about the high-handed and illegal behaviour of recovery agents, some banks and finance companies are still using musclemen to collect dues from customers.
In a glaring example, a group of recovery agents of Bajaj Finance allegedly manhandled and injured a television journalist Jaykrushna Das in Puri following an argument over outstanding dues.
Das has filed a written complaint in the Town police station alleging that besides assaulting him accused also threatened to kill him. Police registered a case on basis of complaint and launched a hunt for accused goons.
