Reporting a record 56 fatalities due to the novel coronavirus on Sunday, Punjab’s death toll due to the deadly contagion has crossed 1400-mark. The death toll in the State now stands at 1,404, against 52,526 positive cases after it recorded a spike of 1,689 fresh cases in the past 24 hours.
Highest 15 deaths were reported from Ludhiana, eight from Patiala, seven from Jalandhar, five from Sangrur, four each from Bathinda and Kapurthala, three from Amritsar, and two each from Fatehgarh Sahib and Hoshiarpur, and one each from Ferozepur, Pathankot, Muktsar, Mohali, Faridkot and Moga districts.
Ludhiana against reported the maximum number of fresh cases with 273 infections, followed by Patiala (188), Jalandhar (150), Mohali (148), Gurdaspur (136), Amritsar (111), Faridkot (74), Fazilka (68), Bathinda (65), Bathinda (60), Sangrur (58), Ferozepur (57), Muktsar (56), Pathankot (55), Hoshiarpur (44), Moga (38), Barnala (34), Ropar (33),
