The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Pritam Singh has asked all the party leaders and workers to help the needy in their areas. He has appealed the member of parliaments, MLAs, MLA candidates of 2017 elections, AICC and PCC members, district and city presidents, block and presidents, heads of ancillary organisations and Nagar Palika and Nagar Panchayat presidents belonging to the party that due to the crisis created by the novel Coronavirus, large number of people require help and the congressmen should do their best to provide necessary assistance to them.
The PCC president has also written a letter to chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat in which he has requested him to make arrangements to bring back the residents of Uttarakhand who are stranded in other States due to lockdown. He said that the government is making arrangement of buses for return of residents of Gujarat stranded in Uttarakhand to their home state. Singh said these buses should bring back the people of Uttarakhand stranded in Gujarat. He said that the Uttarakhand Government should interact with other state governments for ensuring safe return of people of Uttarakhand stranded there. In his letter, the PCC president said that the Congress workers are assisting the administration in their areas in providing help to the needy.
He said that the administration should reach out to the people residing in remote areas and help them. Meanwhile, the former PCC chief, Kishore Upadhyaya has said that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) should come forward and help people at this time of crisis. On his Facebook post, Upadhyaya said RSS has 60,000 branches and more than 60 lakh members across the country.
