Koh-e-Fiza police have nabbed a drug peddler near Singarcholi Bridge and recovered drugs worth Rs 3.5 lakh from his possession on Tuesday; two drug peddlers including a woman managed to escape, search has been intensified.
Police said that acting on a tip-off regarding three persons carrying drugs were tracked near Singarcholi Bridge and when he was searched 18.5 kg of Cannabis was recovered from his possession.
At the time of the incident three persons including a woman carrying a gunny bag over a motorbike came near Singarcholi Bridge shanties and when they reached near shanties police team nabbed one of them while two of them escaped the spot.
The accused was identified as Rajat Gaur (27) of Nariyalkheda who failed to provide details of the drugs recovered from his possession. The two absconding accused were identified as Neelam Meshkar(28) and Gokul Sauda(20). Police said that the details of procurement and delivery of the drugs would be searched in the further investigation. After the initial investigation police have registered a case under sections 8 and 20 of the NDPS Act.
During the initial investigation accused confessed that he came with two of his aides to deliver the drugs in the Kanjar Mohalla in Itwara area of Old city area.
