Police clamp restrictions on anti-CAA rally

Police have imposed restrictions on holding anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and anti-National Register for Citizens (NRC) rallies and deployed five platoons of police in Bhadrak town.

As per reports, when a group was planning to organise a rally and meeting in Puruna Bazaar area, the police stopped the announcement by loudspeakers and deployed police personnel to maintain law and order. Senior police officials are also monitoring the situation.

Earlier in the day, Baleswar IG Diptesh Patnaik held discussions with leaders of a particular community and asked them to not to organize rallies and meetings.
