The plasma centre that has been developed keeping in view of betterment of corona patients was inaugurated jointly by SSP Aseem Vikrant Minz and DC Uma Shankar Singh at PMCH premises on Monday.
The functioning of the centre started with donation of plasma for covid patients by police Jawan Arun Kumar Saw who became the first person to donate his plasma for covid patients amidst presence of aforementioned two officers besides doctors of PMCH.
Talking to media persons Arun said ,”It’s a proud moment for me that my plasma would help cure any critical covid patient here.This also would help in creating awareness among cured patients that they can help in saving lives of needy persons”.
Both SSP and DC hailed the police Jawan for his positive attitude of the Jawan and announced insensitivity for him besides first donors who would donate plasma for treatment of covid patients.
Amidst the inauguration,DC also made an appeal from cured Covid patients to come forward and donate plasma.
The centre has separate apheresis rooms besides other facilities blood component separate, said the DC. The centre would be beneficial for critical patients, DC said.
The authorities have been asked to prepare a register of possible donors so that the plasma of all blood groups may be available here, DC added.
The centre has a capacity of storing plasma of 600 donors, he added. The centre has been granted clearance from all concerned licensing authorities.
