Pappu Sardar, the famous fan of cine star Madhuri Dixit, felicitated Sahiyas and health workers involved in fighting against Covid-19.
He handed over 180 saris to Sahiyas and shawls to health workers during a ceremony organised at District Council Building in Patamda Block Office Complex, East Singhbhum.
The Sahiyas who served the villagers at risk during the spread of coronavirus were recognised. The programme was organised under the joint aegis of Health Department Officer Pradeep Kumar and trade union leader Mahavir Mahto.
On the occasion Pappu Sardar said that even in the Corona era, the health workers are taking care of the health arrangements of rural areas with complete honesty, there can be no value. He compared the sahiyas to Mother Teresa and Sister Nirmala and said that they too are attached to this profession not for money but for service which is quite commendable.
Lab technician Pankaj Kumar said that since last March till now, he has been serving people without risk in the corona period continuously without pay, but so far neither the government nor any department has taken any notice.
During the event, the social distancing norms were applied and 50 Sahiyas, two BTT, one lab technician were immediately honored on the spot while 130 saris were made available to Mahavir Mahato who will deliver to all the Sahiyas.
On the occasion, Deepali Murmu, Padma Sahis, Neelmani Mahato, Sarita Hembram, Neelavati Mahato, Rabani Singh, Bhaskar Mahli, Saroj Mandal, Rahul Mahato, Ravi Kumar, Vikas Rajak, Ajay Mandal, Vikas Mandal and Vipin Kumar Mahato were present.
