Hussainabad police in Palamu have stepped up heat on 10 named accused of a case registered under sections of IPC and SC/ST prevention of atrocities act as well.
Sub divisional police officer Hussainabad Jitendra Kumar said, “On the intervening night of July 28/29 10 people belonging to upper caste reached a newly built house of a dalit Luvkush Ram at village Poldeeh under this Hussainabad sub division and began to insist to have their wine in this house.”
“The dalit family has not moved in his newly built house but every evening he comes here for putting lamplight there,” he added.
A scuffle broke out there on the issue of wine where 9 people belonging to Luvkush Ram side were hurt; while the other side too had some injuries said Kumar. Luvkush Ram has lodged an FIR against 10 people all by their names.
The SDPO named a few of the accused like Dharmender Singh, Deepak Singh, Ramanuj Singh, Kundan Singh, Jogender Singh, Dhruv Singh etc.
The SDPO said, “Police have reports that some aggressors too have been hurt in this scuffle, who are said to have taken medical treatment in Bihar.”
On July 29 police team spotted a few of the named accused but taking advantage of the topography and the rivulet these accused managed to give a slip to us said Kumar.
SP Palamu Ajay Linda said, “I have directed SDPO Hussainabad Jitender Kumar to arrest the accused. Following our tremendous police pressure these accused are sneaking in the side of Bihar.”
“Poldeeh village of our Hussainabad sub division is the first village that is within 2 km contiguity of Bihar state and as such their coming in and going out are far easier,” said Kumar.
Linda said, “Under my direction Jitendra Kumar and his team have so far sent 9 people to central jail Daltonganj in different cases of SC/ST prevention of atrocities act lodged with two police stations Haidernagar and Japla.”
