Appealing the people yet again to maintain social distancing and observe the lockdown properly, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that with the cooperation of the public, Uttarakhand can win against COVID-19.
0Addressing the people through Facebook live on Monday, the CM said that a number of Uttarakhandis outside the state want to return but in the current situation, people need to remain where they are. The Government of India has directed all the State Governments to facilitate food and other arrangements for stranded people from other states. There will be some inconvenience but one has to observe vigilance and patience in these testing times.
He said, “We are getting to hear that people in some villages of Uttarakhand are playing volleyball, cricket and cards, which is not good. It is vital to maintain social distancing and observe the lockdown effectively. Maintain distance from your children too for some days to save your family, yourself and your village. Look at what happened in countries like Italy and Spain where this was taken lightly.” Rawat also said that necessary arrangements have been made for the number of tourists and labourers from other states currently in Uttarakhand. Only with the cooperation of all will the State be able to win against COVID-19, he stressed.
