Sports Minister Tusharkanti Behera during a two-day visit to Baleswar reviewed the progress of the proposed integrated sports complex in Baleswar. During his stay he accompanied by the district officials and MLA Sadar Swarup Das and MLA Remuna SS Parida visited several sports grounds in Baleswar town and Remuna including Permit field, Chandmari padia and Naraharipur ground.
Later on he joined a meeting held at Nocci business park which was attended by district Collector K Sudharshan Chakrvarthy, Sub Collector Sadar Asish Iswar Patil, besides the two MLAs and deliberated on the promotion of sports in the district. He stressed on land acquisition for the integrated sports complex at the earliest. Behera besides emphasizing on creating and strengthening infrastructure for sports in both rural pockets as well as in urban areas also stressed on giving opportunities to the budding sportspersons by providing them infrastructure and scope at a time when the Chief Minister is taking much interest to promote sports and sportsmen in the State. The Sports officers and tehsildars of Baleswar Sadar and Remuna were present.
