Leader of Opposition (LoP) Pradipta Naik on Tuesday demanded a discussion in the State Assembly on the alleged irregularities in the purchases of masks and PPE kits by the State Government for doctors and paramedical staffs engaged in treatment of corona patients.
Raising the issue on the first day of the Monsoon Session, Naik alleged that there has been massive corruption in the purchases of masks and PPE kits, in which Government officers are involved.
He wanted to know why companies outside the State have been entrusted the charge of supplying masks though there is no lack of mask-making enterprises in the State. From where two trucks loaded with masks and PPE kits came and why they were not accepted by the Government, wanted to know Naik.
