The Central Government must make more budget allocations for implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020, said School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Sunday.
Addressing a webinar on “National Education Policy: Impact on School Education in Odisha,” Dash emphasied that the ratio of allocation should be 80:20 by the Centre and State for budgeted expenditure.
The webinar was organised by the Odisha Alliance for Child Rights (OACR), the National Action and Coordination Group for Ending Violence against Children, India, Odisha chapter and the People’s Cultural Centre (PECUC). More than 300 participants attended.
PECUC secretary, NACG EVAC India chairperson and OACR chairman Ranjan Mohanty said the main purpose was to discuss various features of the policy, its impact on school education in Odisha and how best the policy for improving the school education in Odisha be utilised.
SCERT Director Gangadhar Sahoo, Associate Professor, Pandit Dindayal Petroleum University Dr Sitakanta Mishra, former Professor in Psychology, JNU Dr Ajit Mohanty, Dr Pritish Chandra Acharya from the Regional Institute Of Education, FISE president and national convenor, Joint Forum for Movement on Education Dr Amiya Mohanty, former Vice Chancellor of FM University Prof Dr Kumarbar Dash, former Chairman of OSCPCR and former Chairperson of State Disability Commission Kasturi Mohapatra, OSSTA general secretary, Prakash Mohanty gave their valuable opinions on the NEP 2020 and how best it can be implemented.
