Raw materials and wood logs worth lakhs of rupees were gutted when a major fire broke out at a timber shop at timber market Pul Patra area in the morning hours of Sunday.
Panic prevailed in the area after the fire took massive shape in the early morning hours on Sunday. The fire spread rapidly engulfing the wood and raw material of furniture.
The stocks of wood and furniture were kept at the timber store which also owns a saw machine which were worth lakhs of rupees.
The fire tenders were able to control and pacify the fire after putting efforts for more than two hours which broke at around 8 am on Sunday. The massive fire alerted the locals and fire brigade was informed and prompt response from fire brigade helped to control the fire from spreading.Around half a dozen fire tender vehicles rushed to the spot and controlled and pacified the fire.
The fire was controlled averting any untoward incident as the petrol pump was situated near the spot where the fire broke out.
Police and fire tender officials said that the circumstantial evidences suggest fire broke out due to short circuit.
In the incident no casualty has been reported and no one was injured in the incident. The loss in the fire was of teakwood logs and raw materials which were completely gutted in fire and the loss in the fire was of Rs 3 lakh.
