Following the instruction of All India Congress Committee (AICC) to protest against the “exploitation of the people by the Central Government through increasing the prices of petrol and diesel even in the crisis of Corona epidemic”, Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) on Monday held a dharna in front of Raj Bhawan.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion JPCC Chief, Rameshwar Oraon said that by increasing the prices of petrol and diesel by the BJP Government at the Center, it is exploiting people and only the common man of the Country are suffering. It is also causing problems at a time when the entire Country is going through an economic crisis due to the epidemic, the Central Government is profiteering. That too when crude oil prices are continuously falling in the international market, he added.

"The Central Government is failing on every front. On one hand, the graph of corona infection is continuously increasing, according to the data; India has reached the fourth position in the world. On the other hand, on the martyrdom of our brave soldiers on the border, the Prime Minister is misleading the Country by saying that our border has not been infiltrated by China. They are receiving funds for the PM Care fund from the enemy countries. The Congress party through this agitation demands the withdrawal of the increase in petrol and diesel prices and excise duty," he added.

Attacking the Central Government, former Union Minister Subodhkant Sahay said that the Modi Government at the Center is trying to kill people even when the Corona epidemic is tormenting people. "Inflation is at its peak, the constant increase in the price of petroleum products the Government is causing difficulties in everyday life. The BJP Government at the Center is neither able to secure the Country's borders nor control inflation in the Country," he added.

Addressing the dharna programme, Health Minister, Banna Gupta said that in the Corona crisis when the farmers, labourers, youth of the Country are already grappling with the problems, the Central Government continuously increases prices of petrol and diesel to the common man. "The Country's misfortune is that such a Government is ruling today, which is proving to be a profitable government instead of working for public welfare. The Congress party will continue to raise the voice of the public with vigor," he added.

MLA Bandhu Tirkey, Amba Prasad, Spokesperson Alok Kumar Dubey, Rajiv Ranjan Prasad, Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo, Rajesh Gupta and Ravindra Singh were present on the occasion.
