Wednesday, 30 September 2020 | PNS | BHUBANESWAR

The State Government on Tuesday told the Assembly that it is still to gather information on the number of isolation centres and temporary medical camps set up in gram panchayats and funds spent on each of them till now.

To a question of BJP MLA Shankar Oram, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister Pratap Jena said in a written reply that information was still being collected.

Oram had too wanted to know how many people have been given Rs 2,000 after completion of their stay in isolation centres and TMCs and how many of them are yet to be paid the money.

Oram had sought block and district-wise data in detail.  While Congress member Tara Prasad Bahinipati wanted to know the plans of the department for combating the Covid pandemic and its target of spending and how much has been spent so far with district-wise details, the Minister also stated that information was still being collected.

To a related question of Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja, the Minister said a total of 8,53,777 migrant workers have come to the State during the ongoing corona situation. District-wise Information is being collected as to how many of them had registered with the Labour Offices, he said.
