Manmohan Singh appointed Spokesman of AIRB
Patiala: Manmohan Singh, Under Secretary Public Relations, Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd has been appointed as Spokesman cum Press Secretary of All India Ramgarhia Board (Regd), Mohan Singh President of the Board said on Sunday. He welcomed the new spokesman cum Press Secretary and hoped that while serving he will prove his worth as an asset to the Ramgarhia community. "While serving with his long experienced and professional skills, he will project the good works done by the Ramgarhia Community for the welfare of people," Mohan Singh said.
HP Guv, CM greet people on Guru Nanak Jayanti
Shimla: Himachal Guv Bandaru Dattatraya and CM Jai Ram Thakur have greeted the people of the State especially Sikh brethren on the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti. In his message, Bandaru Dattatraya said that Guruparab is the most sacred festival of Sikhs which was the birth anniversary of their first Guru, Nanak Dev. He said we should follow the teachings of Guru Nanak for an enriched and peaceful life. The CM said, Guru Nanak Dev has preached love, peace and communal harmony to strengthen the bond of universal brotherhood.
Haryana CM inspected GSSS Gurugram
Chandigarh: Haryana CM Manohar Lal inspected the Government Senior Secondary School (Boys) for the purpose of expansion of adjoining old Civil Hospital centrally located in Gurugram. It is proposed to increase the capacity of old Civil Hospital to 500 beds, for which some part of the land belonging to the government school is to be transferred from the Education Department to the Health Department. District Education Officer, Capt. Indu Bokan apprised that the classes being taken in the school building that is proposed to be demolished will be taken in the Government school at Sukharali.
Resumption of rail led to arrival of 114348 mt urea
Chandigarh: In a major reprieve to the farmers, the resumption of rail traffic has led to 114348 MT of urea in Punjab through 46 rakes till date. A spokesperson said, 13765 MT has been supplied in Doaba region through 6 rakes, 26412 MT through 11 rakes in Majha and 74171 MT through 29 rakes in Malwa. Notably, due to the non-movement of trains, the supplies of urea and that of coal had been severely affected thereby causing a crisis in the agricultural and industrial sector.
Now the resumption of trains would boost these two vital segments of the state’s economy, the spokesman said.
Experts speak at youth speak forum
