4 cops donate plasma in State
Cuttack: Four police personnel donated plasma on at the SCB Medical College Hospital here on Thursday. They are Sepoy Rabindranath Moharana and Sepoy Sudarsan Sethi of the OSAP 8th Battalion, Chhatrapur and Havildar Prasad Shrestha and LNK Bishnu Kumar Pradhan of the OSAP 2nd Battalion, Jharsuguda, informed an official release.
SOA gets QSI-Gauge ‘Diamond Rating’
Bhubaneswar: The Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University here has received the QS I-Gauge awarded it the ‘Diamond University Rating’. QS I-Gauge said SOA has exhibited outstanding results in their audit earning themselves a ‘Diamond rating’. SOA is the only university in eastern India to earn this rating.
Gurpreet interacts with IIIT students
Bhubaneswar: The International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) of Bhubaneswar conducted the induction session for 2020-21-batch students on an online platform on Wednesday. Students were surprised to see Indian Football Team Goalkeeper and Red Bull Athlete Gurpreet Singh Sandhu coming up and interacted with them. He advise them to keep a strong and positive mind during difficult times. He also answered some questions about his game, routine and experiences in Europa Cup. The session organised by the Entrepreneurship cell with support from Red Bull helped the students get motivated for their journey ahead.
45 cattle rescued in Sambalpur; 5 held
Sambalpur: The Rengali police have rescued as many as 45 cattle from a container truck and arrested five persons in this connection. The police, acting on a tipoff about the animals being trafficked, raided a place near Amapali village on Wednesday night, rescued the animals and seized the truck. The cattle were being transported to West Bengal.
Farmer killed in lightning in Bhadrak
Bhadrak: A farmer was killed in lightning in Chandbali block of Bhadrak district on Thursday afternoon. He was Saroj Mohanty (40), a resident of Balabhadrak Prasad village under Chandabali block.
