NSUI presents memorandum to RU DSW
NSUI members led by State Vice President Inderjit Singh submitted a memorandum stating the various demands in view of the future of the students to Ranchi University (RU) DSW. The demands included that students from all semesters should be promoted without taking any exams. The fees for one semester of self financed courses should be waived off and for students residing in college hostels, three months’ rent should also be waived off. The charade in the name of online classes and exams should be immediately stopped. DSW PK Verma said that in a university meeting next week an appropriate decision will be taken. National social media coordinator Aarushi Vandana, Pranav Raj, Aman Yadav and others were present on the occasion.
JPPC’s insecticide spray drive
A pesticide spraying campaign was launched in the wards of the Capital city in view of the Covid-19 pandemic here on Saturday under the leadership of Aditya Vikram Jaiswal, president of Jharkhand Pradesh Professional Congress. On this occasion, Agriculture Minister Badal, MLA Mamta Devi and State Spokesperson Dr Rakesh Kiran Mahato were present on the occasion. In the presence of the minister, this campaign was started in front of Lalpur police station. Agriculture Minister Badal said that launching of insecticide spraying campaign in Ranchi by the Professional Congress is a commendable work. The Professional Congress has been working continuously since the beginning of the lockdown to minimize the spread of the outbreak of Coronavirus. After the distribution of dry rations, masks, gloves, the sprinkler operations are being carried out, this will benefit the people greatly.
Panel discussion by ICFAI University
An online panel discussion was organised by ICFAI University, Jharkhand, with Coal Industry experts, with focus on Career Prospects in Mining Industry. Panellists for the discussion are B R Reddy, Former Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of South Eastern Coalfields (SECL) and K K Mishra, Director (Technical), Coal Mine Planning and Development India (CMPDI). The discussion was moderated by Prof O R S Rao, Vice-Chancellor, ICFAI University, Jharkhand. A number of students and faculty members participated in the event. After the discussion, a number of questions from the students were addressed by the panel. Welcoming the participants, Prof O R S Rao, said, “Today’s panel discussion will cover impact of COVID-19 on Coal Industry, Reforms introduced by Government in Coal industry with regard to FDI and Revenue Sharing policies and their effect on the growth, productivity, competitiveness and employment in the Mining Industry, particularly for fresh graduates”.
