Beds have been reserved in GDMC hospital, Mahant Indiresh Hospital, AIIMS, Rishikesh and Himalayan Hospital for COVID-19 patients and doctors in these hospitals have been deputed for treatment of COVID-19 cases. In such a scenario the responsibility of private hospitals has also increased. All the private hospitals and nursing homes should keep their OPDs open so that citizens afflicted by other health issues can access treatment conveniently, said chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat while chairing a meet with office bearers of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Monday.
The CM said that the government will provide all type of assistance to the private medical institutions. He directed the police-administration to assist in keeping the OPDs in private hospitals proper. The IMA office bearers assured Rawat that full cooperation will be provided to the government in the efforts against spread of novel coronavirus. This is a fight which involves the whole society and nation, not just the government, they said.
State minister Dhan Singh Rawat, chief secretary Utpal Kumar Singh, IMA Uttarakhand head Dr Ajay Khanna, CMI chairman Dr RK Jain, Dr Mahesh Kuriyal, Dr DD Choudhary and Dr Krishna Avtar among others were present in the meeting.
