The excise department has seized car and recovered illegally transported 6 cartons of Indian Made Foreign Liquor worth Rs 1.25 lakh during from Govindpura area on Sunday; two bootleggers were arrested.
According to the excise official car bearing registration number MP04CG3183 was tracked in Govindpura area and later when the vehicle was checked 6 cartons of liquor was recovered.
The nabbed accused were identified as Natwarlal and Mahipal, details of the accused would be investigated. The car was stolen one or the car driver who escaped was using the car for the transportation of liquor illegally would be investigated. A case under section 34(2) of the Excise Act was registered and further investigation has been started. During the investigation it was found that the bootleggers used stickers of police on the car to evade suspicion but were nabbed.
Meanwhile, Chola Mandir police has nabbed a vehicle-lifter and recovered a stolen car on Saturday from Shankar Nagar; car was stolen from Hamidia hospital parking. According to the police, acting on a tip-off regarding stolen car bearing registration number MP 04 CK 6718 police team tracked the car and arrested the accused.
The accused identified as Deepak Sharma confessed that the car was stolen from Hamidia hospital parking. Deepak is a resident of Bajaria and his crime record details are been searched. The complaint of the stolen vehicle was lodged with the Koh-e-Fiza police and car was handed over to Koh-e-Fiza police in the further investigation.
