House of a retired judge was targeted by miscreants and escaped with valuables worth Rs 4 lakh from his house at Ambedkar Nagar under Aishbagh police station on Saturday.Police said that the victim Anil Muahnia who owns house at Ambedkar Nagar was targeted by miscreants and when he went to the house for electricity meter connection it was found ransacked.
The victim lives in Kotwali area with the family and also owns a house in Ambedkar Nagar and guarded by a security guard who went to Sagar during lockdown. The victim visited house on August 18 and found that the house and valuables were safe but when he went for installation of electricity meter valuables were found burgled.
A complaint was lodged by the victim with the Aishagh police and in his complaint, he stated that he used to live at his Ambedkar Nagar house and shifted to Kotwali later. At the Ambedkar Nagar house goods were kept and a security guard was deployed for keeping eye and during lockdown security guard went to his house in Sagar and house went unguarded. He visited house on August 18 and found that everything was intact and on the next visit on Saturday he found that cash, jewlery and house hold goods were found burgled.In the burglary Rs 1.5 lakh cash, jewlery, sanitary ware and house hold goods were found burgled, total loss was around Rs 4 lakh.Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under sections 457 and 380 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
