Four patients lost their lives due to Covid -19 on Thursday in Haryana and the State reported 623 new infections, taking the cumulative number of positive cases to 34,254. The State's recovery rate was at 79.82 per cent, while the fatality rate was at 1.22 per cent.
According to a Health department bulletin, two fatalities were reported in Sonepat while one each in Ambala and Nuh. In Haryana as many as 417 people have died of Covid-19 till date.
The doubling rate of cases improved to 24 days on Thursday and till the evening Haryana had sent over 60.08 lakh samples for testing. There were 6497 active cases in the State while 920 patients got recovered or discharged in the last 24 hours from different hospitals of the State.
Meanwhile, Faridabad continued to report the highest number of cases as the district saw 184 fresh infections followed by Gurugram where 77 people were tested positive. Other districts where new cases were recorded include Sonepat (36), Rohtak (43), Karnal (34), Rewari (32), Ambala (48), Hisar (28) and Panchkula (34).
A total of 27340 patients have been discharged after recovery, the bulletin said. The officials informed that the state has been progressively increasing its testing capacity, both rapid antigen and RT-PCR, and during June-July, the number of tests conducted have doubled, while tests per million population have reached 23704. The report of 5776 samples is awaited, it added.
