Haryana reports 26 deaths, 1,809 Covid cases

26 persons succumbed to Covid-19 in Haryana as 1809 fresh cases surfaced on Sunday.

The death toll reached 2401 while the total infections jumped to 232522 in the state, according to the Haryana Health Department’s evening bulletin.

In the last 24 hours, seven deaths were reported in Faridabad, six in Hisar, five in Gurugram and two each in Karnal, Rohtak and Bhiwani, one death each was reported in Sirsa and Kurukshetra, the bulletin stated.

Out of 1809 fresh cases reported on Sunday, a maximum of 479 positive cases were reported in Gurugram. Faridabad reported 380 cases, Sonepat 155, Hisar 130, Jind 66 among other cases. Out of 407 critical patients admitted in the hospitals, 347 patients were on oxygen support while 60 were on ventilator, the health bulletin said.

The worst-affected districts in the state-Faridabad has till now reported 40152 positive cases and 333 deaths while Gurugram has reported 49112 cases and 288 fatalities due to COVID-19.

212216 patients including 2794 in the last 24 hours have recovered from the virus and been discharged from hospitals in the state. There were a total of 18905 active cases in Haryana till the evening, the bulletin said.

According to the bulletin, the fatality rate is recorded at 1.03 percent in Haryana. The case-doubling rate in Haryana on Sunday stood at 67 days, COVID positive rate was 6.74 per cent and recovery rate was recorded at 90.84 percent.

As many as 35.40 lakh samples have been tested till date in Haryana, it added.

2 DEATHS, 96 CASES IN CHANDIGARH

The union territory of Chandigarh on Sunday reported two COVID-19 related fatalities and 96 fresh infections.

“With this, the death toll stood at 276. The total case tally reached 17342,” stated 0Chandigarh Health Department’s evening bulletin.

There were 1140 active cases. With 65 patients being discharged including persons from home isolation in the last 24 hours, the total recoveries reached 15926.A 57 years old male resident of Sector 19, a comorbid expired at PGIMER and a 70 years old female resident of Sector 35, a comorbid died at Command Hospital, Panchkula.Among the 96 positive cases reported, 58 were male residents and 38 were female residents. In the last 24 hours, a maximum of nine positive cases each were reported in Sector 48.

141616 samples have been tested so far in the city. 970 samples were tested in the last 24 hours and the report of 143 was awaited, the bulletin added.

There were 110 COVID-19 positive patients admitted in NHE, PGIMER. Out of them, 18 patients were in ICU.
