In yet another spike in Covid-19 cases, Haryana on Sunday reported 1295 fresh positive cases and 12 fatalities. With this, the state’s tally of positive cases reached 63282 and the total toll stood at 682.
Four deaths were reported from Panipat, three from Ambala, two from Kurukshetra and one each from Faridabad, Rohtak and Sirsa in the last 24 hours. A day before, Haryana had reported its highest single-day spike of 1391 COVID-19 cases.
“Out of 1295 fresh cases reported on Sunday, a maximum of 125 were reported from Gurugram, 120 from Ambala, 121 from Karnal, 119 from Faridabad, 85 from Yamunanagar, 84 from Panipat, 77 from Panchkula, 68 from Hisar, 57 from Kurukshetra, 56 from Fatehabad, 54 from Rewari, 52 from Sirsa among other cases.
Out of critical patients admitted in the hospitals, 204 patients were on oxygen support while 3 were on ventilator,” the Haryana Health Department’s evening bulletin stated.
According to the bulletin, the fatality rate is recorded at 1.08 percent in Haryana. The case-doubling rate in Haryana on Sunday stood at 34 days, COVID positive rate was 5.63 per cent and recovery rate was recorded at 81.57 percent.
51620 patients including 909 in the last 24 hours have recovered and have been discharged from hospitals in the state. There were a total of 10980 active cases in Haryana till the evening, the bulletin stated.
The worst-affected district in the state-Faridabad has till now reported 12581 positive cases and 169 deaths. Other two worst affected districts namely Gurugram and Sonepat have so far reported 11818 and 4291 cases respectively. Gururgam has reported 133 COVID-19 deaths while Sonepat recorded 41 fatalities, as per the bulletin.
As many as 9.88 lakh samples have been tested till date in Haryana. The report of 6648 samples is awaited, it added. Notably, sampling of COVID-19 through rapid antigen testing is being done in all districts of Haryana.
The State Government has also established plasma bank at Faridabad, Gurugram, Karnal, Panchkula and Rohtak. A total of 1072 number of plasma units have been collected from COVID-19 recovered patients till date and 681 COVID 19 patients have been given plasma therapy treatment in the state, the bulletin stated.
CM KHATTAR IS STABLE
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who is currently admitted at Medanta in Gurugram after contracting COVID-19 is making satisfactory progress. “The Chief Minister, who is undergoing treatment for COVID 19, spent the day quite comfortably and his vital parameters are normal,” said Medical Superintendent, Dr AK Dubey in a medical bulletin issued. Manohar Lal was admitted to Medanta Hospital on August 25. Dr Dubey informed that the Chief Minister is well rested and continues to remain active going about with his daily activities. Doctors are happy with his progress. The Chief Minister will on Monday undergo some blood and COVID tests, he added.
