Eight faces of Pashupatinath submerged in the flood of Shivna river while 16 sluice gates are opened due to the released water from Gandhi Sagar Dam of district.
The river Shivna flowing in the city has been flooded continuously for the second time this season. For the second time water has entered the inner chamber in the temple of Lord Pashupatinath along the banks of the river, the water level of Shivana river is increasing rapidly due to continuous rains since yesterday.
Due to floods in the Shivna river in the afternoon on Sunday, the flood water has entered the inner chamber of Lord Pashupatinath and submerged 8 faces.
Also by the evening, the water of Shivana river was increasing rapidly. Meanwhile, the water level of Chambal in Mandsaur district is also increasing rapidly, after which 16 gates of Gandhi Sagar Dam were opened and remained open till Sunday evening.
Collector Manoj Pushp told Pioneer that there is a warning of heavy rains in Mandsaur on Sunday and Monday, the water level of the river is constantly increasing, with the increase in water in Chambal, about 5 lakh cusecs of water is coming in the opening 16 sluice gates of the Gandhi Sagar Dam 16 gates and in which 3 lakh cusecs of water is being released.
If the incoming water is continuous then more gates will be opened. A complete alert has been issued in Rajasthan's quota and all the lower settlements for opening of gates as the release is yet to reach. This level is being maintained by the district administration.
