Ratibad police has nabbed eight persons from different areas and have recovered 267 litres of country made liquor, a car worth Rs 2.5 lakh from their possession during action against bootleggers on Wednesday.
During the raids conducted which were based on the tip offs provided, 8 persons were nabbed in the operation.
Acting on tip off three men in a car were traced and when the car was stopped by police two youths escaped the spot while one of them was nabbed by police. Kishan Tomar was arrested by police while two escaped were identified as Ajay Tomar and Rahul Tomar.
From the car 170 litres of country made liquor was seized from the car recovered. The details of car bearing registration number MP04HA5412 would be investigated in the further investigation.
Kishan told the police that they brought liquor from Jhiri in Bilkisganj Sehore. Based on the details provided by accused search for the absconding accused has been started.
Later, two youths on bike bearing registration number MP04QN0916 carrying 65 litres of country made liquor were traced and one of them was arrested. The arrested one was identified as Arvind Tomar.
Among others who were nabbed in the operation were Prabhu Singh Meena who was arrested from Goragaon and 15 litres of country made liquor was recovered from his possession. From Suraj Nagar Alfred Minj and Sunil Bheel were nabbed and from their possession recovered 34 litres of country made liquor worth Rs 7,000. Police have registered case under section 34 (2) of the Excise Act and started investigation.
