In the era of digitalisation products like fish also started selling on digital platforms in the State. Now fish of Getalsud Dam of the State Capital will be sold online and fish lovers will get fish on their doorstep at reasonable price rates.
The fish sale has decreased during the last five months due to rising cases of COVID 19 as the fish lovers are hesitating to visit fish markets to buy it. Witnessing the decreasing demand of fish during the period some youths of Angara Block started online selling of fish of Getalsud Dam under the banner of Fresh Fish Center.
A group of around 15 fish farmers who used to do fishing at Getalsud Dam started the venture with help of a mobile App. Founder Fresh Fish Center, Sanjay Nayak informed that the customers are hesitating to come to the market to buy the fish due to rising cases of Covid-19. The fish sell decreased many fold, in an attempt to sort out the problem around 15 youths started the venture to provide fish on the doorstep of the customers, he added.
Khijri MLA, Rajesh Kachap inaugurated the digital fish sell system. On the occasion he said that it is a positive initiative and the youth of the area added a new chapter in the fish selling system. “The initiative of the youths brought ecstasy among fish farmers of the area. The initiative will encourage other farmers also to join the group and the farmers can also increase their income through the group. At present it has begun on a small scale but it is sure that it will grow in near future with the help of determination of the youths,’ he added.
Various kinds of fish like Rohu, Katla, Mangur, Jhinga, Telpiya, Bandi and others are available at reasonable price rates.
Nayak added they are providing fish to their customers at present only around Angada Block and Tatisilwai area.
“The service will be available in other parts of the State Capital very soon. We are planning to provide fish in Bariatu, Tagore Hills, Booty More, Kokar, Lalpur area which will be started in a week or two. We have arranged ten bikes for this purpose and are planning to arrange more bikes to expand the business. We have started the new venture with 50 kg of various kinds of fish.
Gradually we are increasing the quantity due to demand rising,” he added.
