Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan interacted with around 300 Odia people across the country through a webinar organised by the Odia Samaj in New Delhi recently.
Representatives of various Odia organisations from Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Pune, Surat and other cities joined the webinar and interacted with the Minister. Odia Samaj president Siddhartha Pradhan initiated the interaction narrating how Odia Samaj volunteers are reaching out to stranded Odia migrant workers at different places. Till date, they have provided dry ration packets to 9, 000 Odia migrants, besides free legal aid.
ShriHiranyaMohanty, Trustee OdiaSamaj informed that around 20 Jagannath temples and four Odia organisations joined hands with the Odia Samaj in helping stranded Odia migrants.
Pradhan praised the efforts of Odia Samaj in aiding large number of distressed Odia migrant labourers living in Delhi NCR.
He urged Odia organisations to create awareness among the stranded Odia people about the protocols to be maintained as per the Covid-19 guidelines. He stressed the needs for using mask at all times, the use of sanitiser and washing of hands at regular intervals. He urged all to maintain social distancing.
