At a time when the elite class prefers private hospitals over government facilities, Latehar Deputy Commissioner Abu Imran set an example by turning up at Sadar Hospital in the district for routine check-up and getting himself registered as an outdoor patient.
Sources said the DC Latehar did all to keep this as a low key affair but the message of his visit to the Sadar Hospital in Coronavirus time went too loud and far.
The correspondent spoke to civil surgeon Latehar S K Srivastava who was reluctant to give details of the health check-up of the DC.

DC Latehar Abu Imran was contacted today to know as to what was in his mind when he turned up as a visitor to the sadar hospital to which he said that he wanted to check the state of affairs at the hospital and also get himself examined medically.
He said he got a check-up and then he noticed lack of hygiene in the hospital.
The Civil Surgeon said there was dirt in the hospital but now things are well taken care of.
He said, “The DC saw roof seepage which we are going to plug very soon.” He said the rush of the out patient department is too much here.
DC Latehar said all efforts are on to provide adequate medical facilities to the visitors at Sadar Hospital.
Sources said this visit is a few days old but people of Latehar love talking about it for the simple reason that DC Latehar could have got his routine check-up in any posh hospital but he preferred the government hospital for blood tests.
