Covid-19: 664 fresh cases, seven deaths reported on Sunday

The number of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) mounted to 19,235 on Sunday in Uttarakhand with the state health department reporting 664 fresh cases of the disease. Seven deaths from the disease were also reported on the day which increased the number of deaths to 257 in the state.

 The state health department discharged 480 patients of the disease from different hospitals of the state on the day after their recovery from the disease. A total of 19235 patients have so far recovered from the disease and the percentage recovery for Covid-19 patients in the state is 67.61 percent.

Out of the total samples tested 5.39 percent have tested positive for the disease. The doubling rate in the state is now at 22.05 days.

Three patients of the disease ( 70, 63 and 33 year old males) were reported dead at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh. Similarly two patients each were reported dead at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital and Sushila Tiwari government hospital, Haldwani. In GDMC, 72 and 64 year males expired while a 48 year old male and a 45 year old female were reported dead at Sushila Tiwari hospital on Sunday.

The authorities reported 183 fresh cases of the disease from Udham Singh Nagar district on Sunday. Similarly 126 patients were found in Haridwar, 120 in Dehradun, 46 in Uttarkashi, 39 in Nainital, 36 in Pithoragarh, 27 in Almora, 26 Tehri, 24 Chamoli, 20 in Pauri, eight in Rudraprayag, five in Champawat and four in Bageshwar district on the day.

 Out of the 480 patients discharged on the day, 187 are from Haridwar, 121 from Dehradun, 97 Nainital, 32 Tehri, 21 Uttarkashi, 15 in Chamoli, five in Pauri and one in Champawat were discharged on Sunday.

The state now has 5912 active patients of the disease with Udham Singh reclaiming its top slot from Haridwar on the day in the table of active patients of Covid-19. Udham Singh Nagar now has 1427  active cases while with 1264 active cases Dehradun is now at second place.

 Haridwar now has 1245 active patients and is in the third spot.

Nainital has 695 active patients of Covid-19 while Tehri has 297, Uttarkashi 209, Almora 168, Champawat 143, Pauri 137, Pithoragarh 118, Bageshwar 80, Champawat 74 and Rudraprayag 55 active patients of Covid-19.
