nScores of Congress workers led by PCC President Mohan Markam marched on Tuesday to Raj Bhavan here to submit a memorandum against the three bills related to farmers passed by Parliament to President Ramnath Kovind.
The march started from Rajiv Bhavan and culminated at the Raj Bhavan.
Markam told reporters that the farm bills will make the farmers vulnerable to exploitation and will lead to the scrapping of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) system.
He said the Central government had made these bills to implement the Shanta Kumar committee which recommends dismantling the Food Corporation of India (FCI).
On contract farming, Markam said the biggest drawback of the contract farming ordinance is not to compulsorily provide MSP of farm produce to the farmers.
The Congress leaders submitted a memorandum addressed to the President.
