Chhattisgarh's ruling Congress party on Sunday accused the BJP and its leaders of having shown "extra love" for China when it ruled the state and said none of the promised Chinese investment ever materialized.
"When it comes to friendship with China, BJP’s Chief Ministers have shown extra love," Shailesh Nitin Trivedi, Chairman of the state Congress unit's Communication Department, said in a press release.
But instead of accepting their own errors, Bharatiya Janata Party leaders have started hurling allegations on others to defame them, he said.
In the 15 years Raman Singh was the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, the BJP government signed 11 MoUs worth Rs 22,000 crore with China.
For this, a large team of senior officials and Cabinet Ministers including Chief Minister Raman Singh visited China and Hong Kong, Trivedi said.
But none of the Chinese projects took shape. The Chinese didn’t make any sort of investment in Chhattisgarh.
Trivedi asked why did the Raman Singh government fail to bring investment from China.
