Both the ruling Congress party and the opposition BJP on Tuesday claimed they will win the Marwahi by-election due on November 3.
Chhattisgarh BJP president Vishnudeo Sai said in a statement that BJP workers and leaders are working on the ground at booth level to ensure victory for the party. People have given positive responses.
Sai said that in the last two assembly by-elections, the Congress used every truck to ensure victory. But in the last two years, people have witnessed the "misrule" of the Congress, which in each Marwahi election has finished third.
He said that fearing a defeat, maximum number of Ministers are in Marwahi conducting the election campaign. The late Ajit Jogi was a mass leader. But without him, the scenario will be different, Sai said.
Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee President Mohan Markam said that like in Chitrakote and Dantewada Assembly constituencies, Congress will win in Marwahi too.
People know the work done by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel through different innovative schemes. It is Congress which gave the district status to Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, a long pending demand.
The Congress has already won two by-elections, civic bodies and three-tier panchayat polls. So, it will win in Marwahi too, with a thumping mandate.
