In a bid to encourage marketing of goods produced by small industries in the state, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has instructed all departments to enter into a 'rate contract' with the Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC) at the earliest.
Baghel has issued directions to provide a list of items to be purchased by various departments to the Department of Industries at the earliest and asked CSIDC to determine the rates of the goods.
Instructions were given earlier by the state government to ascertain the rates of goods produced by small industries in the state by a rate contact with CSIDC but many departments have not done so.
The Chief Minister has said that in order to encourage commercial activities in the state and to ensure Chhattisgarh does not suffer a loss on GST amid the Covid-19 crisis, the supply of such goods which are not produced in the state and are purchased by the departments regularly should be made only through the authorized dealers of the producer companies in the state.
