CM launches ‘Donation on Wheels’

Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday launched the ‘Donation on Wheels’ and handed over 500 packets of essential commodities and Rs 11,000 assistance to the Raipur district administration.

The daily wage earners across the state are facing hardship due to the lack of livelihood and to provide relief to such affected families during the lockdown period, the Raipur district administration is making arrangements to provide essential commodities and every-day use goods to them.

Interested donors can prepare packets of essential commodities they want to donate, which will be collected by the district administration through the ‘Donation on Wheels’ drive, officials said.

The chief minister appreciated the initiative of the district administration and said the vehicle will collect the donations from different colonies and commercial premises across the capital city.

A donor can bundle 5kg of rice, 2kg of wheat flour, half a kilogram of pulses, half a kilogram of salt and  soap into a packet and hand it over the donation on wheels vehicle.

The donors can also call zila panchayat CEO Dr Gaurav Kumar Singh on  his mobile  :9669577888 or Raipur smart city general manager (public relations) Ashish Mishra on 9685792100 for the date and the time  so that the vehicle to reach their residence to collect the packets.

The district administration has provided six vehicles for collection of donation.

Raipur district collector Dr S Bharatidasan, senior superintendent of police Arif Shaikh, Raipur zila panchayat   CEO Dr Gaurav Kumar and others were present.
