Vice Chairman of the Delhi Jal Board Raghav Chadha on Sunday inaugurated ground water supply connections to rationalise water supply in Budh Nagar, Inderpuri and nearby areas. The project was pending for the last 32 years and now, residents of Budh Nagar (A block) will get water for the first time through taps in their houses.
The people of the area were depending on water supply from tankers. Chadha visited the site and directed the officials to augment water supply using groundwater to provide water in a rationalised and cost efficient manner.
Chadha, said "I had decided to solve the water crisis in the area on priority at the time of campaigning during the election. Today, I fulfilled the project and it brought tears to my eyes after seeing the immense sense of satisfaction on the faces of hundreds of people. From now onwards people will get clean drinking water in their taps”.
