The much-awaited Cabinet expansion is likely in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday. The deliberations over the list of MLAs to be inducted in Cabinet continued in New Delhi till late night.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday evening. The meeting lasted for around half an hour. It is believed that he has okayed the final list of those BJP MLAs likely to be inducted in the cabinet.
Cabinet expansion is almost certain as President of India Ram Nath Kovind late evening on Sunday issued an order appointing Anandiben Patel as the in charge Governor of Madhya Pradesh as the Governor Lalji Tandon is recuperating from serious ailments in last few days.
The Uttar Pradesh Governor was likely to reach Bhopal on Monday, but she changed her programme.
She has asked the Chief Minister to get ready with the list and then she would fix her programme of Bhopal visit.
Before administering oath to the ministers, Anandiben would be administered oath of Madhya Pradesh Governor by Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh.
The Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan who had reached New Delhi on Sunday had called on senior party leaders including Narendra Singh Tomar, executive president JP Nadda and Home minister Amit Shah. Chouhan, however again reached to meet Shah on Monday morning. Chouhan is likely to return with final list on Tuesday.
It is believed that with lengthy list of cabinet aspirants in the BJP state unit, Chouhan had a mammoth task of meeting these aspirations while keeping a balance among caste, regional and factional equations.
Former Congress MLAs who had helped BJP topple Kamal Nath government are expected to walk away with lion’s share in cabinet berths. Two of them—Tulsiram Silawat and Govind Singh Rajput, are already in Shivraj cabinet. Others including Imarti Devi, Aidal Singh Kansana, Pradyumn Singh Tomar, Mahendra Sisodia, Rajyawardhan Singh Dattigaon and senior MLA Bisahulal Singh are expected to be brought on board.
