Bokaro admin declares 2 villages as containment zone

Following the rise in the number of coronavirus positives cases in Bokaro, district administration has completely locked down Surhi and Argamo village under Nawadih block and declared the village as Containment Zone.

Exercising the powers conferred under sub-section 34 (b & c) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the Deputy Commissioner Bokaro Mukesh Kumar completely locked down both villages.

One person from each village were reported COVID-19 positive on Friday, later they have been shifted to COVID-19 ward of Bokaro General Hospital (BGH). Both were recently returned from Maharastra. Aiming to prevent the spread of Corona Virus infection Kumar asked his officials to mark three kilometres as Containment Zone and seven kilometres as Buffer Zone around the residence of COVID-19 infected patient, informed A K Pathak Civil Surgeon Bokaro.

Concerned over the issue DC issued the order to his officials to intensify the Sanitization work marking the area as three kilometres of Containment zone and seven kilometres as Buffer Zone, considering the residence of the infected patient as the centre for the spread, to prevent of Coronavirus spread, he informed.  The DC also asked officials to conduct intensive monitoring of the area and issued a directive stated that: No person should be allowed to leave the house (except in the case of exception) by completely eluding the inscribed boundary area with the place of residence of the infected person as the focal point; Arrange for the supply of essential commodities like ration, milk, medicines, vegetables and others to the people in need on a payment basis in both villages; Ensure special care of cleanliness by keeping the areas of their houses completely sanitized; Ensure deputation of the police officer and police force in Surhi and Argamo villages.

“In case anyone fell ill in those areas, immediately send a medical team to provide treatment and medicines to the person; It will also ensure that the ration is available to all eligible beneficiaries through the PDS shop and who do not have a ration card and it is a very poor person, then the amount provided to the head of the head of the food grains Under the optional level, they will ensure to get the dry ration provided at the panchayat and block level,” it stated in the order.
