Bodies exhumed, sent for post mortem on DM’s order

After a villager complained about the suspicious deaths of two persons from the same village, the district magistrate’s order to exhume the bodies was acted upon to send these for post mortem examination. Acting on the DM’s order the Nayab Tehsildar reached the graveyard along with police force to exhume the bodies. According to local sources, some of the villagers also reached the site and opposed the administration’s action.

A teenager and a young man suddenly fell ill in a village which falls under the Laksar police station.

The duo was taken to the hospital where the doctors declared both dead. Their relatives took the bodies and buried them without informing the authorities.

A villager questioned the cause of their deaths on Monday and complained to the district magistrate C Ravi Shankar.

The DM directed the Laksar sub divisional magistrate Pooran Singh Rana to get the two bodies exhumed and sent for post mortem. When the officials and police reached the village and started exhuming the bodies, some of the villagers including relatives of the decased objected to the action stating that it was against their religion.

The officials informed that the action was being taken on the DM’s order but the villagers continued to object. However, the bodies were exhumed and sent by the police for post mortem examination.
