An online virtual meeting of Grama Bank Officers Congress and Gramina Bank Employees’ Congress Joint National Working Committee held on Wednesday unanimously resolved to support and join the CTUC protest agitation on August 9 protesting against the privatisation of public sector enterprise like railways, defence, coal, petroleum and other industries.
Dr G Sanjeeva Reddy in his inaugural address alleged the Modi Government had no respect for tripartite consolation. It only listens to the corporate houses. He urged upon all unions to join the agitation programme of CTUC.
Former MP and national vice-president of INTUC and president of Officers’ and Employees’ Federation of Gramin Bank Dr Rama Chandra Khuntia presided over the meeting and expressed his displeasure over a recent tripartite settlement between IBA and United Forum of Bank Employees which is not enough to fulfill the expectation of bank employees.
General secretary, Indian National Bank Officers Congress Prem Kumar Maker, Subas Sabart from Indian National Bank Employees Federation, general secretary Gramya Bank Employees Congress K Rajib and general secretary Gramina Bank Officer Congress Prakas Soni participated.
