The Balasore district administration has sealed the UCO Bank, Soro Branch and the Kasinath Lodge at Sore after two employees of the bank were found to be contacts of a Covid-19 infected person and one of them had visited the lodge.
As many as 11 employees of the bank have been kept in a Government quarantine facility. The bank, the lodge and their vicinities have been sanitized.
As per reports, a girl from Neliabag area, who was among the five Covid-19 positive cases detected in Baleswar district on Monday, is daughter of an employee of the UCO Bank, Soro branch. Besides, a woman employee of the bank was staying on rent at the house of the girl.
But after the first positive case of Baleswar was detected from the Nelibag area, the woman bank employee moved to the Kasinath Lodge and stayed there from April 18.
As per the direction of the administration, the 11 bank staffs would undergo medical examination and tests and contact tracing would be carried out.
Meanwhile as many as 52,000 people have registered their names to return home in the district. As 45,000 family members will return with them, around 1 lakh people needs to be quarantined. However, district has only about 18,000 beds in all 360 quarantine centers across 12 blocks.
