The district administration on Tuesday felicitated the next of kin of couple of deceased Covid warriors of the district and also disbursed ex-gratia amount of Rs 50 lakh each to them as per the State Government’s announcement in a function organised here.
District Collector Samarth Verma felicitated Manashi Rout, widow of deceased Prafulla Kumar Rout who worked as the Executive Officer of Andara and Penthapal GPs of Chandiagadi under Aul police station and Sandhyarani Bhuiyan, widow of Biswabhusan Bhuiyan who was working as Junior Engineer in Rajnagar Block of Dilwarpur. Rout got affected with deadly virus in October and died on October 21 while he was undergoing treatment at Hi –Tech Medical College and Hospital in Bhubaneswar.
Similarly, Bhuiyan died while he was undergoing Covid treatment at Bhubaneswar-based Apollo Hospital. The State Government is going to provide special general family pension to duo families. Notably, duo deceased Covid warriors were working under Panchayat Raj Department .
