Over 175 media personnel were examined in the medical camps organised in the premise of Dhanbad Press Club on Wednesday. On the directive of Amit Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Dhanbad a health checkup camp was organized for reporters, cinematographers, videographers of all print and electronic media staffs aiming for prevention from COVID-19.
Kumar also instructed the doctors to provide masks, sanitizers and head caps to the media persons for prevention.
Thermal screening of all media persons was conducted in the camp besides blood sugar, blood pressure, health tests. Free medicines were provided after consultation with the doctors. Journalists who arrived there for investigations followed the social distancing.
Speaking on the occasion President of Press Club Sanjeev Jha and General Secretary Pankaj Sinha thanked the Deputy Commissioner, said, “Organizing such a camp is a commendable initiative for journalists to protect them against the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Jha said that journalists living in the field always face risks; sometimes they forget to protect themselves in the excitement of compiling the news. “Such events have boosted the morale of journalists,” added Jha.
Doctors and medical experts including Dr. Alok Vishwakarma, Dr. Naresh Prasad, Dr. P. P. Pandey, Dr. M. Narayan, Dr. Mukesh Malakar, Mukti Ranjan Das, Abhishek Kumar, health worker Sushil Kumar Ram, Niranjan Prasad, Anoop Das, Priya Kumari along with other medical staffs comprised the panel attended the journalists rushed in the camp
Besides others, District Public Relations Officer Isha Khandelwal, Abhishek Kumar, Naveen Rai, Ashish Ambasht, Ashok Jha and other members including correspondents, photographers and photographers of print and electronic media, Dhanbad Press Club’s Senior Vice President Yogendra Nath Narula, Vice President Nandlal Agarwal, Secretary Sanjeev Biotra, Treasurer Yamesh Trivedi, Dr. AK Singh, Dr. Abir Chakraborty, Rishabh Gutgutia, Vishal Kakkar, Shekhar Sharma, Ravi Agarwal, Anil Singh and medical team were also actively participated in the camps.
