51st death due to Covid-19, 285 discharged

With the death of a man on Thursday at the Dr BR Ambedkar Memorial Hospital in Raipur, Chhattisgarh crossed the half-century mark in Covid-19 fatalities.

Also, while 175 fresh cases were reported from various districts, 285 patients were discharged upon their recovery, officials said.

A 45-year-old man from Tikarapara locality in Raipur, who was suffering from diabetes and convulsive disorder, tested Covid positive and admitted at the Ambedkar Hospital on July 28. He died on Wednesday night, the officials said.

This is 51st death due to Covid-19 in Chhattisgarh.

Of the 175 fresh cases, Raipur reported 93, Rajnandgaon 21, Durg 13, Kondagaon 9, Bilaspur 8, Janjgir Champa and Balodabazar 4 each, Kanker and Narayanpur 3 each, Korea, Surajpur, Bastar and Dantewada 2 each, and Bemetara, Kabirdham, Gariaband, Korba, Surguja, Balrampur and Jaspur reported 1 case each.

So far 8,775 Covid positive patients have been reported in Chhattisgarh while 5,921 have recovered.
