The Covid-19 cases continued to surge in capital city Bhubaneswar with as many as 515 positive cases reported from 33 wards on Sunday.
With this, the city’s positive tally crossed the 10,000-mark reaching 10,021.
However, 297 more persons recovered from the disease, taking the total recoveries to 6,061. One more person also died on the day, pushing the city’s total death toll to 41.
Cuttack city on Sunday registered 206 more Covid-19 positive cases, taking the total tally to 4,777. out of which 1,938 were active cases.
Out of the new case, 22 were from Nua Nimba Sahi and, Chauliaganj containment zones and all are contacts of earlier positive cases.
Besides, 43 cases were from institutional quarantine, among which five are Covid warriors, 54 were from home quarantine and 87 local contact cases.
Another 95 recoveries among patients were reported on Sunday, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation said. As many as 2,813 persons have recovered and 26 persons have died of the disease in the city so far.
